Sneak Peek at Cards for Men Class

What a wet and windy day it is today isn't it? Perfect day for staying in and crafting. I've managed to squeeze a bit of time this morning for a last play with the retiring Cupcake Builder punch. This time instead of creating something sweet like cakes or ice-cream I've opted for something a bit more manly.

So I used the punch to create some fluffy clouds in the sky ... it's just so versatile!

You might be thinking you've not seen those cute air balloons before and you'd be right .... this is a sneak peek from the new Summer Mini catalogue launching next week. There are so many lovely stamp sets in the new mini I can't wait to share them .... 2 days and counting!!

I used the Square Lattice Embossing folder to add texture and interest the scene. It's a technique called inlaid embossing and is so easy and so effective.

If you'd like to learn this technique and come and make a collection of cards for men then come along to my next monthly class. Cards for men are so challenging to make so I'll be sharing lots of different ideas for all those men in our life, and it's perfect timing for Father's Day cards

Cards for For Men
Saturday 12th May, 1 - 4  pm.
in Rugeley, Staffordshire

Cost of the class is £15 to include your kit, full use of stamps, punches and tools and refreshments. Please bring along your own basic craft kit with adhesive and scissors.

Alternatively you can book your place for half price with an order of £25 or more, or get it free for an order of £45 or more. If you would like your goodies to have on the day, your order and class booking must be made by Friday 4th May.

Don't forget you can also order anything out of the Spring mini if you send me your order by tomorrow!

Cupcake Bakery

I'm back with another cupcake creation as I had a special little girl's birthday card to make ... my gorgeous goddaughter! I've seen this Bakery style of card in blogland for some time and never got round to making one,  so what better excuse.

The awning is created using the word window punch and is so simple to do. I love the 3D effect it gives the card.

I then created 3 cupcakes in my new favourite colour combo of Rose Red, Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette. This stamp set is so versatile that the cupcakes can be different every time.

I used my favourite embossing folder of the moment - Square Lattice - to create the Bakery wall and topped it off with some Organza ribbon and a sentiment layered up on the Decorative Label punch.

I stamped a cupcake inside and added the Happy Birthday sentiment from the stamp set.

Hopefully my goddaughter will like it as much as me. I tend to buy her crafty items for her birthday as she loves making things .. so far she's had beads, jewellry and card making kits ... what to get this time?

I'll be back soon with more creations, so do come back.

I Scream for Ice-cream

Now whilst there's definitely nothing wrong with cupcakes, with summer hopefully on it's way (I know it might not seem like it with all this rain!) I thought I'd show you something else you can create with the soon to be gone Cupcake punch .... ice-cream. Yep, the frosting of the cupcake can be used for scoops of ice-cream.

I opted for a Neapolitan selection of Early Espresso, Very Vanilla and Pink Pirouette. I even stamped some sprinkles on the Early Espresso one to represent Chocolate Chip!

The cone was made with the Pennant punch and given texture with the Square Lattice embossing folder.

I left the rest of the card quite simple as thought with the colour combo I had chosen, I could use the card for a male birthday. So the bow and diamonds were ditched and I just added a simple strip of Crumb Cake seam binding and finished off with the sentiment from Create a cupcake punched out with the Word Window.

Cupcake Stand

Evening,

With less than a week to go before the Spring Mini retires I thought it a good time to showcase some of the products that will soon be gone ... just so you don't miss out you understand.

My favourite set in the mini is the Create a Cupcake set and it's fabulous matching punch. Can't believe it will soon be no longer available to order and I haven't used it nearly enough!! Time for me to rectify that this week though and here is the first card I made.

I created a trio of cupcakes in colours of Rose Red, Pretty in Pink and Crumb Cake with some Chocolate Chip bows. I love how the stamp set has lots of different combinations for decoration of the cupcakes .... endless possibilities. I had seen a cupcake stand like this on Pinterest and decided to recreate it. It's so simple to do with the scallop border punch, crop-o-dile and the 1 3/8" Circle punch.

I also had time to decorate the inside with a sentiment from Happiest Birthday wishes.

If you like this set then don't keep thinking I'll get it soon, because come the 1st of May it will be too late. Contact me with your order today and don't forget if it's over £45 you will also get a pack of 12x12" Designer Papers free.

Be back tomorrow with another creation with this fab stamp set.

Blossom Party Post It

Hello, I've got another project with the soon to retire Blossoms Party die to show you today and it's something I've been meaning to make for ages. It's a post it note holder .... so useful and so easy to make.

The holder is made in Wild Wasabi cardstock and with a few simple score lines and a cut or two to  create the holder. I topped it off with a layer of Melon Mambo and then a background of the Beyond the Garden Designer Paper.

Then I used the die with alternating cardstock in Wild Wasabi and Melon Mambo and added a rhinestone brad to form the flower centre.

I made a matching card using the same card and papers and used the Scallop border trim to add some detail. The sentiment is from Just Believe and punched out with the word window punch - one of my well used punches!

These papers are one of the Springtime Gift offer, so you can get them for FREE with a £45 order until the end of April.
